Embracing a Childlike Faith

In the bible, when the disciples sought guidance on prayer, Jesus responded with simplicity: "When you pray, say FATHER."

Reflecting on the woman with the issue of blood, we observe a clear parallel to the mind of children. Just as our own kids once reached for the hem of our clothes to capture our attention, she reached for the hem of Jesus' garment. The familiarity of this gesture resonates – a gesture grounded in childlike reliance and trust- My son, will pull my hem of my clothes until his desire is met

Did her plea go unanswered? Far from it.

There exists a profound connection between a childlike faith and spirit:

  1. Unwavering Belief: Children possess an unbridled belief that transcends the boundaries of reality. In their world, even cartoons are real, superheroes are plausible, and dinosaurs are captivating. God desires us to approach His word with a similar conviction. Just as a child unquestionably believes in the extraordinary, so should we embrace God's promises with unwavering faith. Did the Red Sea part at the strike of a rod? I believe. Can praises shake the foundations? Absolutely. We are called to open our hearts to God with childlike trust, fully embracing His word.

  2. Forgiving Hearts: Children have an innate ability to forgive effortlessly. Despite reprimands, they run back to us, seeking solace. Our heavenly Father invites us to embody the same resilience. Life's unfairness and unmet expectations should propel us back into the arms of our loving Daddy. When the weight of the world bears down, we are encouraged to return to Him, confident that His touch can heal and restore, just as a child seeks comfort after a moment of distress.

In imitating the faith of a child – characterized by unwavering belief and forgiveness – we find a pathway to a deeper connection with our heavenly Father.

We will embrace the simplicity of childlike faith, where profound truths are found in the earnest reach for the hem of His garment.

Happy reaching out to the Hem of our Fathers garment

  1. We have a lot to learn from children. How does it happen, that we become adults and forsake the main things that make us his "children"? Indeed we need to reach out to the hem of our father's garment.
